They are available in knocked-down state in the form of light-weight Sintex SMC panels of standard size of 1 m x 1m, 1mx0.5 m, 0.5 m x 0.5 m and 1mx 2 m, and hence can be carried even to the most difficult terrains by any locally available transport including bullock carts or mules.
Panels are made from advanced composite plastic, comprising glass fibre reinforcement and formulation of selected resins. These have flanges on four sides and large size tanks are assembled by bolting the panels on flanges using special sealant and gaskets to form leakproof construction. The Sintex SMC panel tanks can be quickly and conveniently assembled and installed using conventional tools and labour.

For example, a 30,000-liter (30KL) tank can be constructed in multiple size combinations such as 5m × 3m × 2m (L×B×H) or 6m × 5m × 1m (L×B×H) — both offering the same capacity.
This flexibility allows the Length, Breadth, and Height (LBH) of the tank to be modified as per the available space at site, ensuring convenient customization and easy installation.
